  St Cézaire sur Siagne
Less than an hour from Cannes, St Cézaire perches atop a rocky peak, 300 meters above the river " Siagne ".
A small rural village offering an exceptional view reaching from the "Pré-Alpes" of Grasse to the hills of Esterel and Maures.
The cave, whose geographical position has created on exceptionally sheltered place, which has always attracted man, sustains ancient olive groves, beyond the "Restanques" and the rocky bars through which the river winds its ways.
From the relics which have remained this group of megaliths made up of dolmens and fortified walls, one has been able to prove the existence of sedentary life during Neolithic times.

The village "Greniers de César" is aptly named. At the time of Gallo-Roman civilisation, Roman families settled down in this region which offers rich agricultural produce.
On top of this, you can admire at the entrance to the Roman chapel of cemetery, a sarcophagus which bears witness to this area.
There are many chapels which testify the importance of religion throughout the ages: Notre Dame de Sardaigne (12th), St Saturnin, St Ferréol, as well as the village church built in 1720, which harbours some splendid "retables".
However, apart from the rural charm which oozes from this area of "Olive Soil", the merry religions figures and the architectural monuments, relating their tales of long ago; what best characterises this town and makes it on of the most well known in the region are its pot-holes and of course its cakes.

The caves, undoubtedly the most celebrated in the region were discovered accidentally by a farmer digging his field.
A unique specimen of this type of curio, the caves allow you to plunge to a depth of nearly 50 meters (build-up section) over a distance of 200 meters.
Breath taking, as much by its variety of concretions as by the extraordinary red of the rock, the path is cleverly shown off by discreet and appropriate lighting. This makes a visit into the labyrinth of the depths of the earth a memory as unforgettable for the old as for the young.

Visits accompanied by experienced guides guarantee your safety and with the temperature at a steady 14°C, you can breathe easily.
